# Configuration

A contract that calls `FHE` must point at the Arcan host contracts. Inherit `ArcanConfig`. The constructor calls `FHE.setCoprocessor` with the access-list contract, the executor, and the verifier for Robinhood.

```solidity
import { ArcanConfig } from "@arcan/solidity/config/ArcanConfig.sol";
contract Payroll is ArcanConfig {
    // FHE calls are available
}
```

You do not pass those addresses in every function. The config contract resolves them for the Arcan host.

## What the config contains

| Contract    | Role                                                   |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Access list | Stores `allow`, deny, and decrypt rights |
| Executor | Records symbolic FHE operations and handle updates |
| Verifier | Checks decryption proofs when a cleartext is submitted |

The input verifier is read from the executor at call time. It is the contract that `FHE.fromExternal` uses to check an input proof.

## One host

Arcan configuration targets Robinhood. Do not point a contract at another chain's executor and expect the same ciphertexts to resolve. Handles are meaningful on the host that recorded them. Cross-host movement is a bridge of ciphertext, described in the [gateway](/protocol/gateway.md), not a shared address list.

## Override

`FHE.setCoprocessor` exists for tests and for a contract that must retarget. Production contracts should inherit `ArcanConfig` and leave the addresses in one place.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.arcan.finance/solidity/configure.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
